Conversations

Only a few years ago social networking meant going to the pub and having a few drinks with your friends and their friends. How things have changed. It seems that once every few days I am hearing of a new social network site, tool or application that everybody needs to get up to speed with.

The scene is dominated by facebook and it’s easier to manage cousin twitter. Twitter is a phenomena with thousands registering everyday. Let’s not get left behind.

I’d like to encourage everyone at Conversations to sign up and get tweeting. Tweet about what we do as a community, tweet about you likes and dislikes. Tweet pray, tweet worship, tweet encourage, tweet Jesus.

Let’s make use of this little tool to get the message out there.

The St Mike’s men’s weekend has been running for many years.  It’s a great opportunity for men of all ages (18+) and from all walks of life to go away for a weekend of great fellowship (and food) in the Yorkshire dales.  There will be teaching and worship with plenty of chill time and a chance to get to know others.  Our speaker this year is the Rev’d Ian Parkinson who, together with his wife Nadine, heads up new Wine North.

The weekend costs £70 all in (but if you need a bursary towards this do let us know).  We would love to see men there from all the different services across St Mikes.  So download the Mens Weekend Booking Form 2010 and get your booking in – we expect the weekend to fill up quickly.

Hopefully there will be a big conversations crowd there. Get your form in ASAP. It really books up unbelievably fast.
